The Seminary Guild is a group of women from congregations in Fort Wayne and nationwide who work together to provide for the physical and spiritual needs of CTSFW’s students. The combined efforts of Seminary Guild members make a great impact on the future servants of Jesus Christ who will teach the faithful, reach the lost, and care for all.
The mission of the CTSFW Seminary Guild is to serve God by communicating needs and encouraging support of the Seminary and its students. God’s grace enables us to pray, encourage men and women to serve God as pastors or deaconesses, and support the Seminary by filling students’ spiritual and physical needs.
How We Serve
Students who live in the dorms receive a free skillet cookie and a birthday greeting from the Seminary Guild at the beginning of their birthday month.
The Seminary Guild provides snacks at the post-chapel coffee hour during finals week each quarter.
The Seminary Guild gives a t-shirt and booties to students’ new babies.
The Legacy Project provides every new pastoral and diaconal student with a copy of the Pastoral Care Companion when they receive their fieldwork assignment. The book contains prayers, readings, hymns, and liturgy that guide those caring for individuals in times of celebration and times of distress and is useful for both pastors and deaconesses as they serve the church.
The Seminary Guild hosts receptions after the vicarage placement and deaconess internship placement services, the call service, and graduation. The Guild also gives gifts to the wives of graduates and to deaconess graduates at the end of each academic year and donates funds to various student groups on campus.
